How to describe an indescribable girl? Her eyes leave me breathless and her smile? Oh.
This little darling is full of strength and grace and favor and she will not be beaten. Her resilient spirit has set her on a course of healing and we continue to see the Father binding up her heart. Those deep blue eyes hold deep wounds. The blondie hair, once kissed by the African sun, still sways in the Oklahoma landscape.
The year has been long and some nights endless. To listen to your baby girl wake up screaming in terror over things she cannot describe. We just begged and pleaded for the Father to meet her needs, because we could not. My Love and I have ached for the unknown pain our dear one has suffered through. The days we did not know what was happening to her. Days when she would cry, without words to speak her pain. Oh, I wish I could take it away.
But. I. Can't.
We've just held onto the hope that the Father does not leave us. That He knows our hearts and that He can touch the deep wounds within. Placing our blondie in His hands, to be bound up by His embrace.
And we've seen her hair grow back. We've seen her smile return. The Son shining in her... through her. I look at her and I see hope fully alive. I see joy. Peace. Fierce strength and determination.
Yes. This sunshine girl has a bright life ahead. And we stand in amazement and look forward to what this year holds.
